Desktop Requirements

Purchasing new workstations for your office? Need to know what the minimum
configuration for your desktop should be to run DAMION? If so, read on.

The following are the recommended workstation configurations you'll need to
run DAMION. These are not recommendations for purchasing new equipment;
since most desktop computers you can purchase today will far exceed these
requirements.

When you're thinking about desktop configurations, there are two different
types of DAMION users.

The Basic User is usually an attorney or other staff member who only looks
up information in DAMION and may do occasional data entry. The recommended
configuration for this type of user is:

CPU Pentium @ 1 GHz
Memory 256 MB (NT/2000/XP)
Hard Drive Free Space 300 MB
Network Protocol TCP/IP
Video 800 x 600 pixels, 32K colors
Word Processor Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect
E-mail / Scheduling MS Outlook, Novel GroupWise, IBM Lotus Notes
Operating System Windows NT/2000/XP

The other type of user is the Advanced User who does data entry, generates
documents, may generate reports and in general interacts with the system
regularly. The recommended configuration for this type of user is:

CPU Pentium 4 @ 2 GHz
Memory 512 MB (NT/2000/XP)
Hard Drive Free Space 300 MB
Network Protocol TCP/IP
Video 1024 x 768 pixels, 32K colors
Word Processor Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect
E-mail / Scheduling MS Outlook, Novel GroupWise, IBM Lotus Notes
Operating System Windows 2000/NT/XP

Damion is now certified for Windows XP at versions 4.1 and higher. This
requires an Oracle patch which can be downloaded from the FTP server or on
CD by request.
